During my winter visit to Banff National Park in 2016, I knew that Morant's Curve was a must-see. However, I underestimated
the train schedule of Canadian Pacific, assuming that a train would pass by every hour or so. Instead, I spent over six
hours waiting for the elusive train. During that time, the mountains in the distance were swallowed by clouds, only to
reappear moments later, creating a dramatic scene.
Just as luck would have it, mere minutes before the first train arrived, the clouds parted, revealing the stunning peaks
that make this spot so iconic. I can only hope that one day Canadian Pacific will run a steam engine through Morant's
Curve again—when that happens, I'll drop everything to be there and capture it.
