Blanket of White Gold

3/6
Of the many reasons of why I wanted to move to the Pacific Northwest, one of them was to capture scenes like this. In thirty-one years of living in the south, I was never able to capture or see the magic of a first snowfall in the mountains.

The morning after the first snowfall at Snoqualmie Pass for the 2020-2021 winter, I got an early start to capture not only the sunrise, but to also avoid the inevitable shutdown due to wrecks. This “Blanket of White Gold”, along with the mountains peeking through the clouds provided the perfect opportunity to channel my inner Ansel Adams. I hope you enjoy the first of many black and white images that will appear in my galleries.
