Some of my best images have come from happy accidents—being in the right place at the right time. This shot of
Koosah Falls along the icy blue McKenzie River is a perfect example. I spent a weekend in the Willamette National
Forest capturing waterfalls, with Koosah Falls planned for early Sunday morning. However, I found time to visit on
Saturday evening just before sunset, and in doing so, I captured one of my favorite shots.
The veil of the McKenzie River spilling over basalt cliffs, framed by icy blue waters, moss-covered boulders, and the
soft pink hue of the setting sun, creates a breathtaking scene—one forever captured in time.
