Under the vast skies of eastern Colorado, nature unveiled one of its most mesmerizing spectacles—a High Precipitation (HP) supercell churning with raw, untamed energy. Near Lamar, this storm radiated an otherworldly turquoise hue, a hallmark of its hail-laden core. The vibrant green fields below stood in sharp contrast to the storm's ominous beauty, while the late afternoon sun cast a fiery glow along the horizon. Every element came together to create a scene of unparalleled drama and artistry.

For hours, I had trailed this tornado-warned behemoth as it marched relentlessly eastward, crossing into western Kansas. Its towering, turbulent clouds seemed alive, swirling and shifting in a dance both chaotic and captivating. Eventually, it transformed into an outflow-dominant storm, a moment immortalized in Trouble on Rails.

May 24th, 2015, remains etched in my memory not just for this breathtaking supercell but for the surprises that came after sunset. Near Dodge City, nighttime tornadoes emerged, adding another layer of awe to an already unforgettable chase. This day, with its fury and beauty, exemplifies why I love storm chasing—a journey into the heart of nature's most extraordinary moments.
