In 2011, I began pursuing my passion for storm chasing. In late August, a few friends and I headed to the Outer Banks of North Carolina to witness the
landfall of Hurricane Irene. Although the storm struggled to maintain its strength due to a dry air slot, it was still an unforgettable experience,
marking my first encounter with a hurricane. The image above shows the Nags Head Pier in Nags Head, North Carolina, during the height of the storm.
