Beneath the vast night sky, the sand dunes of eastern Washington stretched out like a sea frozen in time, their
rippling waves shaped by the ever-present wind. Above, the Aurora danced in vivid hues of purple and green, its
curtains swaying gently, mirroring the patterns below. The dunes and the sky seemed to share a secret rhythm, a perfect
harmony that felt otherworldly.
Washington is often thought of as a land of rain and evergreen forests, but beyond the Cascade Mountains lies a world
transformed. Here, in the rain shadow, the arid landscape reveals a surprising beauty—rolling sand dunes that shift
and reshape with every breeze. That night, the Aurora graced this unique terrain, creating a rare and unforgettable pairing.
This was my first time witnessing the Aurora in Washington, and the sight left me awestruck. The celestial waves above
and the sandy waves below seemed to echo one another, creating a symphony of light and form that I'll carry with me forever.
Celestial Sand Waves captures a moment where the heavens and the earth felt truly connected.
