It would not have been a trip to Arizona and Page without visiting the iconic Horseshoe Bend. Here the Colorado River meanders 270 degrees and creates an
impressive horseshoe shaped bend. After all the hiking I did on this trip, this was by far the easiest. I had high hopes for a colorful sunset when I saw the
clouds to the west, and made it to the rim before hundreds of onlookers could take the best spots.
This is a 35 image composite as the Sun sets behind the canyon. The colors were nowhere near as spectacular as I hoped, but this still turned out well
as the last light of the Sun glows off the canyon walls. A 35 image composite was chosen to allow for large scale high resolution prints, a technique I
employ for most of my landscape shots.
